Mission and Vision

Mission
As the mission of the Department of Animal Science, it aims to contribute to science and society by implementing modern and qualified education and training programmes at undergraduate and graduate level for the safe and sufficient production of animal foods from farm to table, which is necessary for raising healthy generations, and by conducting effective research and development studies.

Vision
As a vision, the Department of Animal Science aims to be among the leading departments in the regional and national livestock sector by keeping the level of education and research programmes high in cooperation with national and international institutions.

Programme Profile (Objective)
Ensuring the continuity of animal production within scientific and economic principles by increasing the use of biotechnology in addition to traditional methods, taking into account animal welfare, the needs and sensitivity of the society, following the national and international sectoral competition, adopting scientific thinking. To train zootechnician agricultural engineers who can effectively transfer information to the producers (stakeholders) by analysing the situation in which they are in and do not leave their demands unrequited, who have adopted the principle of lifelong learning and self-improvement, and to conduct research to solve the problems in the field of animal husbandry and to improve the current situation.
